Welcome
The Metro Boston Minutemen program is committed to and focused on skill development and the overall health of its players. Our baseball players are generally from the Metro West communities of Needham, Newton, Wellesley and Weston, Massachusetts. It is our belief that player development is a continual progress and comes in multiple stages. As players develop many aspects must be addressed from basic skills to body control and bio-mechanics to the mental aspect of the game. If a player is to succeed at higher levels this all must be continually taught and reinforced and the player must be dedicated to learning.
The Metro Boston Minutemen Player Development Program will will utilize a complete and progressive curriculum that is designed to make these young men the best baseball players and individuals they can be. The sessions will include topics such as specific strength and body control, physics and mechanics of hitting, injury free throwing, pitching with the body, and dynamics of the corner and middle infielders and outfielders. During these winter workouts we will also have "whiteboard" sessions that will teach the mental aspect of the game. We will cover overall baseball education such as rules of the game, team strategy, base running, player and position specific positioning and responsibilities, on deck preparation, the mental approach to hitting and pitching and overall defense. The season will consist of a 30-35 game schedule with weekly practices during the season.
The Metro Boston Minutemen Player Development Program will help prepare young men to get to the next level whether it be high school, college or beyond. Each player will have a personal binder that will track individual goals and progress. The binder will continually be filled with handouts that will cover what they are learning as we progress.
